Chapter 16: Prince of Hell

“How does she know all that? I swear she wasn’t there, I watched her go into the room upstairs, she never came out. It’s not possible.” I’m panicking as much as Ella was, there’s just no way she could know all that.

“Invisibility?” Aiden asks as he kneels down on the grass. His hands hover over her knees, healing the wounds in the blink of an eye. Even though I know he’s only healing her, I still feel like punching him in the face for touching her.

“No, only the royals have invisibility.” I stare at her, feeling sick to my stomach.

She can’t be a royal, my Father’s never sired a girl.

“You don’t think…” Aiden trails off, looking more closely at Ella’s face. “She’s an original, isn’t she?”

“No way, not possible, all the originals died out a century ago. Even my father doesn’t believe there are any left in the worlds.” I too stare at Ella. If she’s an original, then she’s in more danger here than we realised. Especially if the rumours about living in the human realm are true. If she is then she’s far more precious than the book. If we got her back to our home realm, she’d be far stronger than even my father. She’s all we’d need to take him down, once and for all.

“Let’s get her back to the hotel, we’ll check her out once she’s safe inside the room.” I say, a hint of excitement lacing my tone.

“Teleport or are we going back for the car?” Jack and Jake ask together.

“Forget the fucking car, it’ll turn back into that Sam guy’s piece of shit Camaro in a few hours anyway.” I snap, bending down to lift Ella into my arms. I flick my wrist opening a portal right into her hotel room. Without waiting for the others, I step through, letting it close behind me.

As I lay her down on the bed, my foot hits something under the bed. I gently brush her hair back from her face and then bend down, looking for the thing I kicked. Her overnight bag is the only thing under there. I don’t want the others finding out just yet what she has hidden within the bag, so I push it a little further under the bed. If they find out I actually found the stupid thing, there’s a chance they’ll want to take it straight back to my father.

Being the king of hell is bad enough, there is no chance I would hand over the book that would grant my father dominion over all of the realm. Worse, if Ella is an original and my father got a hold of both her and the book, there’d be nothing that could stop him. Not even all the armies of Hell and Earth put together would be able to stop him. Even I thought the book was a myth at first, but the moment I laid eyes on that book, I knew there was no way I would ever return to the hell dimension.
